Skiing Around Santiago

Set in majestic and spectacular mountain scenery, and in close proximity to Santiago, skiing in Chile makes for an unforgettable experience. With a ski season from mid-June to early October you can enjoy fantastic winter sports in this beautiful part of the world.

Located just to the north of the cosmopolitan capital city Santiago, Chile’s main ski resorts offer world class facilities and excellent conditions. Here the sunshine is abundant and with the exception of the peak season in mid-July, queues during weekdays are practically non-existent so you can enjoy the pleasure of skiing the Andes in complete relaxation.

There are several resorts to choose from including El Colorado, La Parva and Valle Nevado, and only a 90 minute drive from Santiago. These small, chic resorts offer great accommodation and have a relaxed, yet classy atmosphere.

A little further on is Portillo which attracts national ski teams from all over the world to train during our summer months as well as an eclectic group of South American and US skiers. There are dozens of spectacular runs to suit all abilities and if skiing off-piste is your passion you will be in heaven with what some say is the best powder conditions in the world. Strike out and experience for yourself the magnificent Andes and the fantastic winter sports in Chile.
