Honeymoon in Peru
Below is an example of a honeymoon we have organised before.

Lima – Nazca Lines – Paracas Reserve – Amazon Rainforest Jungle Lodge – Classic Inka Trail Hike – Lake Titicaca – Colca Canyon
Day 1 Arrival in Lima and transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 Half day city tour of Lima and Gold Museum.
Day 3 Transfer to Paracas and flight over the incredible Nazca Lines. You will see several figures of stylized plants and animals drawn in an enormous labyrinth of straight lines, trapezoids, triangles, and spirals scattered about the desert floor that has remained preserved for about 2000 years.
Day 4 Boat to the Ballestas Islands of the coast of the Paracas Reserve, Peru’s largest coastal wildlife sanctuary. These two beautiful islands are home to thousands of resident migratory sea birds. These include pelicans, boobies, cormorants, and gulls among others, who share their habitat with colonies of sea lions.
Day 5 Flight to Puerto Maldonado and take an outboard motorized canoe to the jungle lodge. Hike nature trails, where you will discover and learn about the rainforest, its components, uses, transformations by the humans, and its relevance for the world. At dusk, take a twilight river excursion. Learn about nocturnal animals’ behavior and the southern constellations.
Day 6 We trek into the Tambopata National Reserve towards Lake Sandoval. We will navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkey, black caiman, and one of the world’s biggest fresh water scaled fish, the paiche. Later we explore the canopy walkway and look for anacondas and learn about the flora and fauna of this flooded ecosystem. At night we take a hidden rainforest excursion.
Day 7 Take a native farm excursion. Learn about local techniques of cultivation. Visit the botanical garden and discover the immense variety of medicinal plants used by the inhabitants of the amazon region. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride and try native fishing. See the remains of the Fitzcarrald steam boat and learn about its history.
Day 8 Take the motorized canoe ride back to Puerto Maldonado. Visit the a Butterfly House. Flight to Cusco.
Day 9 Day at Leisure in Cusco.
Day 10 Set off for the Classic Inka Trail hike – 4D/3N camping. Hike along the Urubamba River to the first archaeological site “Llaqtapata”. After lunch we begin to gain altitude until we get to the village of Huayllabamba where we camp for the night.
Day 11 We start climbing up to the first pass “Warmiwañusca” (4200 Mt/ 14’200 Ft). The climb will take us most of the morning. From here, we descend for about 2 hours into the valley to our next camp “Pacaymayo”.
Day 12 Today is going to be the most diverse day. We start in the morning with the ascent of the second pass “Runcuracay” (3900 Mt/ 13’800 Ft) and descend on the other side for about 2 hours to the beautiful archaeological site “Sayacmarca”. After having explored this unique place, we continue on the original stone path of the Incas through semi-tropical cloud forest onto the third pass “Phuyupatamarca” (3800 Mt/ 13’600 Ft). With good weather, we have spectacular views of the surrounding snow peaks and the valley below. From here, it is downhill to the camp at “Wiñaywayna” (one of the most beautiful sites in the area for its construction and setting).
Day 13 We hike through cloud forest to the famous sun gate “Intipunku” from where we have the first breathtaking view and best panorama of the mysterious “Machu picchu”. A short walk brings us down to the site. We visit “the lost city of the Incas” in a guided tour. After this a well-deserved buffet lunch and bus to Aguas Calientes.
Day 14 Vistadome train to Cusco and day at leisure.
Day 15 Flight to Puno.
Day 16 Full day trip to Taquile and Uros Islands. The culture on the Taquile island is old, UNESCO has declared their textile art as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The Uros Islands, are a set of man-made floating islands in the middle of the Lake Titicaca National Reserve. Here, you will meet the islanders, hunters and gatherers and descendants of the first altiplano inhabitants, who still live on totora reed platforms.
Day 17 Bus to Arequipa with scenic stops along the way.
Day 18 Day at leisure in Arequipa.
Day 19 Visit Colca Canyon. Drive through the Aguada Blanca National Reserve where you will see herds of llamas and alpacas grazing on the plains. We will be making a stop to drink the typical coca leaf tea. Drive through Colca Canyon with its green valleys and Andean terraces.
Day 20 Excursion to Condor Cross, the best viewpoint of Colca Canyon and hopefully spot the majestic Condor, the biggest bird in the world. Visit the Hanging Hanging Tombs at Choquetico before continuing on to the towns of Maca, Achola and Yanque and its lovely white church. We will be taking lunch in Yucay and will have the afternoon free to explore the surroundings.
Day 21 Visit to the typical Andean town of Coporaque and make our way back to Arequipa via the “Volcanoes Lookout.”
Day 22 Flight to Dublin via Lima
This is a mix of 4 & 5 star hotels (B&B).
