After Buenos Aires, we continue to Patagonia South America, a beautiful area full of wildlife, forests and charming architecture located in Argentina’s southern region. Patagonia trips are perfect for nature lovers and in Puerto Madryn you can go walking among penguins; an unforgettable experience.
Finally it’s onto Tierra del Fuego, our favourite way to end our Argentina holidays. When is the the best time to visit Patagonia ?
Patagonia covers a large area of over 1,000,000 square kilometres across both Chile and Argentina, so it stands to reason that conditions vary dramatically across this area given its size. The best time to visit Patagonia largely depends on your interests. Typically the most popular time to visit is during the summer months of December to February however it is also the most expensive, Summer is the warmest time of year with temperatures around 15°C however it can get very windy with wind speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. Spring and Fall are not as warm, winds can be strong but typically less severe. Although some of the trails and treks offer limited options in winter, many people still prefer this time of year given it is less busy and equally as picturesque, so don’t rule out travelling to Patagonia at this time of year. To recap, the best time of year to visit Patagonia in South America largely depends on your interests and when is the best time for you.
