DAY 1. Arrival in Santa Cruz. Tour of the sites of the city: Museums, principal monuments, residential neighbourhoods, Zoo, and La Recoba handcraft market.
DAY 2. Visit to the Jesuit Mission of San Javier, declared a cultural heritage site by UNESCO. Then through open savannas to the town of Concepcion, the largest centre of the Missions, with an amazing Jesuit church. (BLD)
DAY 3. Morning to enjoy the town and see the restoration done in these Jesuit Missions and its local museum. Return to Santa Cruz. (BL)
DAY 4. Flight to Sucre. Afternoon city tour of Sucre. An UNESCO world heritage site, Sucre is gem of white-washed houses, perfectly-preserved colonial architecture and traditional craft markets. (BL)
DAY 5. Departure early towards the indigenous community of La Candelaria. Visit of the Hacienda and the houses of local ladies where you see the famous “Tarabuco textiles”. Enjoy a traditional lunch. Return to Sucre. (BL)
DAY 6. Bus tour through the highlands to the city of Potosi, declared a Cultural and Natural Heritage site by the UNESCO. Afternoon visit of the Mint House, traditional colonial streets, San Francisco and San Lorenzo churches. (B)
DAY 7. Visit a mine to see the remains of the silver production from colonial times. Afternoon private trip to Uyuni, crossing branches of the Andes range, old mining centres and villages. (BL)
DAY 8. Trip to Colchani, to see locals producing salt, trip crossing this natural wonder of salt. An uncanny setting of complete open space, simply blue sky and white ground stretching as far as the eye can see. During rainy season, water pools on the ground reflecting the white clouds and blue skies in a spectacular scene that allows you to imagine yourself walking on air. Trip back to Colchani. (BLD)
DAY 9. Morning flight to La Paz. Trip to ancient site of Tiwanaku. Built over three thousand years ago, these ruins were once the vast capital of the Empire. Today, however, little remains of the empire after it fell into decline, and much of its riches were sacked by the Spanish. The relics that remain, however, are well-worth seeing, and a visit makes an ideal day trip from La Paz on your holiday to Bolivia. Return to La Paz and ride down from El Alto to the downtown with the new cable car! (BL)
DAY 10. A tour of La Paz, including the street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artefacts. The tour goes through the colonial part of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and the outdoor replica of the Tiwanaku temple. Then to the modern part of town, to visit the Valley of the Moon. In the Evening, enjoy a Peña Folk show and dinner. The hand woven clothing, the traditional dance steps and the handmade instruments all present the culture of Bolivia in an unforgettable evening of entertainment. (BD)
DAY 11. Transfer to Copacabana (3 ½ hours), a nice town in the shores of Lake Titicaca. Take the boat to the Island of the Sun and enjoy a typical lunch. Back with the boat to the Pilkokaina ruins and hike for about one hour to overnight in an Ecolodge. (BLD)
DAY 12. Take a boat to La Chincana, to see the great Inca ruin, continue to the Moon Island, visit the Iñak Uyu ruins, boat to Copacabana. Lunch or box lunch included. Return to La Paz. (BL)
DAY 13. Transfer to airport for return home (B)
