Day 1 – 3 Buenos Aires

Fly into Buenos Aires. Take in the bustling street life of the city, seeing the historical districts and tracing along the way the history of Tango. Eating out, you’ll be spoiled for choice with Argentine cuisine which is renowned for its amazing meats and wines.

Day 4 – 5 Buenos Aires to Colonia del Sacramento

Get ferry to Colonia del Sacramento port in Uruguay. Pick up rental car (with GPS) and check in to hotel. Colonia Del Sacramento is an irresistibly picturesque town enshrined as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its Historic Quarter, an irregular colonial area of narrow cobbled stone streets, occupies a small peninsula jutting into the river. The riverfront provides a venue for spectacular sunsets.

Day 6 – Colonia – Estancia Finca Piedra
Check out and drive to Estancia Finca Piedra. Experience an authentic ecotourism ranch on your Uruguay holiday. Your palate will be fully satisfied with its excellent barbeques, and you’ll be delighted tasting select vintages from their vineyards. While riding with a friendly “gaucho” (cowboy), you will learn about the agriculture of this 1000-hectare ranch, as well as the history, culture and lifestyle of the country.

Day 7 – 8 Estancia Finca Piedra – Montevideo
After breakfast, check out drive to Montevideo. Laid back Montevideo is a vibrant, eclectic capital city with a rich cultural life. Music, theatre and the arts are alive and well here – from elegant older theatres and cosy little tango bars to modern beachfront discos. Not to be outdone by their neighbour to the north – Brazil – Montevideo claims to host one of the longest carnivals in the world beginning in February or March – depending on the year, it can last up to forty nights!

Day 9 – 12 Montevideo – Punta del Este

After breakfast, check out of hotel and drive to Punta del Este. Known as the St Tropez of Uruguay, thanks to its beautiful beaches, chic resorts and glamorous nightclubs. No holiday in Uruguay is complete without a visit to this chic beach resort. Punta del Este is full of world class restaurants, which means visitors are spoilt for choice. Popular amongst celebrities, Punta Del Este oozes sophistication and is the ideal destination for those who love both the bright lights of the city and stunning beaches.

Day 13 – Punta del Este – Montevideo

Finish off your holiday in Uruguay. Drive to the Montevideo Airport where you will drop off the hire car and take your flight to Dublin.
