Resting on Colombia’s highest plateau 2,640m above sea level is the ever-changing capital city of Bogotá
Not only is it a world-class city with a wealth of things to do, its location near the centre of Colombia makes it an ideal base to explore further afield. With a newfound exuberance that has brought out the city’s artistic heart for the world to see, the streets are a cultural blend of cosmopolitan and colonial. From the city’s historic centre of La Candelaria to the Andean mountains outside its borders, it’s quickly becoming one of South America’s most popular cities.
Bogotá’s high altitude means it doesn’t get the high temperatures experienced in other areas, although rain is a possibility at any time of year.
