This bucket list trip begins with your flight into Argentina where you will arrive in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, the “end of the earth”, where you’ll have 3 days to relax and explore before you the cruise.

Day 1
Depature from Dublin on an overnight flight to Buenos Aires via Charles de Gualle.
Day 2
Arrival into Buenos Aires and transfer to Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world. Overnight stay in the luxury, Arakur Hotel.
Day 3 – 4
Take some time to relax and take in the beautiful natural surroundings of Ushuaia. Alternatively you can enjoy the comforts of Arakur Resort & Spa, and take a dip in it’s heated pool.
Day 5
Embarkation
This morning you will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the port for embarkation to the impressive Hebridean Sky before tomorrow’s cruise departure. After meeting the expedition crew and settling into your cabin, enjoy the Captain’s welcome dinner before the ship sets sail along the famous Beagle Channel
Day 6 & 7
Crossing the Drake Passage
The Drake Passage stretches for just under 1,000km and is the spot where the Atlantic, Pacific, and Southern Seas converge, creating a roaring current where cold polar water sinks beneath the warmer northern waters. Along with usual high winds, a crossing of the Drake Passage can be quite the adventurous jouney.
As we reach the South Shetland Islands, we will see our first icebergs. If conditions have been favourable in the Drake Passage, we will make our first shore landing, accompanied by the lecturers and naturalists.
Day 8 – 10
South Shetland Islands
The itinerary will depend on weather conditions as we explore the area. The Antarctic Peninsula is a unspoiled wilderness with incredible landscapes and wildlife including penguins, seabirds, Weddell, crabeater and leopard seals as well as minke, killer (orca) and humpback whales.
You will see the volcanic Shelan Islands and depending on weatehr conditions visit Half Moon Island which is nestled inside Livingston’s eastern shore.
Day 11 – 12
Antarctica
We aim to make at least two landings each day. Possible sites include Paradise Bay, Melchior Island, Cuverville Island, Portal Point, picturesque Neko Harbour and Pléneau Island. We hope to be able to navigate the Gerlache Strait, the striking Lemaire Channel and the majestic Neumayer Channel with its spectacular glaciers. We also hope to visit Paulet Island, home to blue-eyed cormorant colonies and 100,000 pairs of breeding Adélie penguins. If ice conditions permit we’ll also explore Petermann Island where a colony of gentoo penguins can be found.
Day 13 – 14
Return Drake Passage Crossing
Leaving Antarctica, the ship sets a course north to return across the Drake Passage to Ushuaia. There will also be a few final lectures to listen to as you relax on board and watch for the lights of Ushuaia.
Day 15
Disembarkation
We are scheduled to arrive into the port of Ushuaia in the early morning, disembarkation from the ship after breakfast. Transfered to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival to Buenos Aires. you will be collected and transferred to luxury hotel, Mio Buenos Aires.
Day 16
Enjoy a day at leisure, take in the the vibrant Buenos Aires at your own pace or indulge and enjoy the elegant surroundings of your hotel, Mio Buenos Aires.
Day 17
Upon checking out of your hotel, you will be transferred to Ezeiza International Airport for your return flight to Dublin via Charles de Gualle, Paris.

Arrival into Dublin
